A photograph taken on March 1, 2014 shows Ukranian “Blue 45” in flight armed with a full complement of ten air-to-air missiles (R-27 Vympel and R-73 Vympel). The aircraft is believed to be based at Mirgorod. The aircraft wears Ukraine’s “digital flanker” camouflage scheme.
RIA Novosti reports the delivery of twelve Sukhoi Su-35S multi-role fighter aircraft, bringing the number of delivered aircraft to 34. The remaining fourteen aircraft, of the 48 ordered by the Russian Air Force, are scheduled for delivery in 2015. The twelve Su-35S will be posted to Dzemgi in the far-eastern Khabarovsk region of Russia, most likely being assigned to the 23rd Fighter Aviation Regiment (23 IAP). Dzemgi has been reported as the factory airfield of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association (KnAAPO).
